Please think about the amount of effort that is going on to plan for this rally.
- The mental effort required to plan the logistics of such a huge event
- The physical energy required to make all this a possibility
- The amount of time the members working on this are sacrificing.. time that they could have spent with family or other gainful things
- The financial impact this is causing on the invloved members
and all not for themselves but for all of US.

Accountability. Ok great, accountability is a pretty good concept. However I think the OP is targeting the wrong people here.
Do we even dare to hold the CIS/DOS accountable for their wishful manipulation of PDs? These guys can't even give us information that's there in their own systems.
Did we raise our voice when H1Bs (an arch which all of us have passed through) were being demonized by the media and politicians?
So we are not holding the people who have been the biggest beneficiaries of our money accountable, why hold a volunteer group, who are nothing more than regular people like us with families and personal issues accountable for trying to fix something that's broken.
Shoot in the city I live in, it's like the Richard Pryor paraphrase "I see brown people"
Yet when we want to discuss agenda and action items, how many show up: 6, yes, 6.
Maybe next time we'll put up a board for free pizza and beer.
And here you are giving IV lunch money and asking for bill passage. :rolleyes:

Employee of company A accepts an offer from another company B which promptly applies for a H1B transfer premium processing and its approved. Now the employee cannot join company B due to some problem and wants to remain with company A. Does company A need to apply for H1 transfer?
As I understand there will be no need to apply for the transfer again and the employee can continue working for company A. But the tricky part here is what if company B cancels the employees H1 visa seeing the employee did not join its workforce (considering that it just transferred it)?
Can some knowledgeable people please comment on the above scenario please.
Since you have not joined company B then why you worry whether they cancel H1b or not. As long as company A is having your H1b, nothing to worry & no need for reapplying for H1b transfer back to company A. There is no concept of H1b transfer, every company apply a new H1b when you join them and employer/employee relationship exist as long as they don't cancel H1b. Hope this helps.

Since you have not joined company B then why you worry whether they cancel H1b or not. Its not over till its over :), and its not over yet by any means. I am willing to wait and fight ;) . Everyone has priorities in life, each person would view GC situation differently. For me, its not the ultimate dream, but just a vehicle to continue my journey for some more time (with peace of mind). I am definitely looking to gray my hair in my home country or atleast be there once I am grayed haired :D
Doing an MBA/PMI and looking for managerial job is the only realistic possibility for most, I don't think most people would wanna still be programming when they turn 40/45 (depending on how old/young you feel).

You should show some decency in replying to posts. Otherwise it reflects where you come from. - I come from a down to earth broad minded background where "we" together help and try to make lives better, .. but I am skeptical about you and your background because thats a selfish, mean and free loader character.
By donating few dollars, you are not entitled to write anything on any forum. Hi, I have a question about PERM labor process. How soon can an employer apply PERM labor certification after hiring an employee?
There is no statutory requirement on wait time. You may not even be an employee when your future employer files for your PERM as green card is for future job.
It's up to your company policies and your "persuasion skills!"

Visa is generally assigned to an application only if it has cleard background checks etc...and ready to be approved... They never assign Visa on receiving the application
Well, I just made my third call and the lady sounded quite confident that applications that have been received and are in processing are not affected by this and it's only NEW applications that would be coming in after July 2 that are affected. I understand what you're saying that they don't assign it but I have read before that they "assume" each application qualifies unless they eventually figure out otherwise. And now I am making my own assumption that if they assume it qualifies then it's assumed a visa is indirectly assigned? Wait, I'm confused:D.

I had hoped to embarrass the government further by exposing the connection to a known "hate group," but the media has refused to report that part of the story. If I could get the media to expose the racist origins of this law, we might have some hope, but don't count on it.

I agree. The PD for Oct' Bulletin will probably somewhere in mid-end of 2003 and i don't think it'll ever go back to Current .... So what happens to all the 2006,2007 applications ???

I see ur predictions coming true, but with a big BUT, the flow "EB1 ROW/EB1 INDIA --> EB2 ROW/ EB2India/ EB2China-->EB3ROW/EB3 INDIA." may be a make-shift approach just to use up leftover visas for this year. This is not a published rule anywhere. So how can u be so certain based on Ron Gotcher or how can he be so certain that this gonna be the approach going forward.
The DOS after consulting with attorneys and the Congress has concluded that EB visa numbers should spill over horizontally rather than vertically. Relevent legal clauses addressing this issue were posted by IV members yesterday. DOS now admits it's previous interpretation of vertical spill over (excess visas going to EB-3 ROW) was wrong. Can it be challenged or reversed?, Of course possible but very unlikely to happen in the near future in the next several months.
All said and done, I'll say vdlrao calculations with (sumagiri correction:) look credible.

You came here 6 years ago and applied for your GC only in 2010. Didnt you find an employer who would file one for you. And you also know if your GC gets screwed for some reason, then you are out of the US also.

This is merely a sampling of how people think when there is no unnatural pressure. If dates are retrogressed, you feel you better apply, whether you are interested or not --just in case. If dates are OK, you feel "let me wait and see if I like it here or not". Just a case of group thinking IMO

I agree with the OP that Air India is one of the worst airlines for service. I have travelled a lot in AI due to company policy peviously.
Now that I dont have any obligation, I always prefer Singapore and Cathay pacific. They rock!!!

Uscis will invent thousand things to issue rfe, ead should be in a different league to h1 and it should not turn into another h1 where you are slapped with rfe left right and center. Example pay stub rfe, ability to pay RFE, customer purchase order RFE etc etc etc, green card holders don’t have any problem working in these same jobs so why should ead people face this nonsense (otherwise it is just like h1).
