Matter has been discussed in the past but i wanted to get an advice/opinion from seniors/pro.
How serious problem could be leave employer in the month you get green card who has sponsored you for immigration.
I am in this situation.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, President Obama signed into law the FY10 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill. Folks, I'm in the current sitation. In 6th year of H1B, aplied for PERM labor pending with ATL processing center for >15 mtonhs. Attorneys are filing for 7th year extension. I need to traval in the next 2 weeks but not confident enough to get everything right, I need my visa stamped aswell, which with the current H1B validity, would be onlyuntil 22nd Oct 2009. I did try to convince my Managers that they file the extension under premium processing and I could get extended visa until Oct 2010, but Attorney advised that it is not necessary and I should be fine to go, get my visa stamped and come back.
2 points I'm concerned about are,
1. Since I have < 6 months validty on current H1B is it safe to travel and I would hopefully have my extsntion reciept number when I go for stamping.
2. Heard lot about denial of entry at POE, I'm trying to avoid certain airports that I has problems (JFK, EWR etc). Not sure I'm doing enough to be safe.
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

You can get reimbursement for all eligible expenses but you will not get the tax benefit. The taxes due on that amount will be accounted for at the time of filing your return. You can submit claims and get them reimbursed.

I guess that should be OK. Only H1B rules require one to be continuously earning. On EAD, if you have a potential employer who is willing to hire you after your GC is approved, you can remain without regular paychecks.
I know of the guys, who actually availed unemployment benefits on EAD, and yet got their GCs. At least sitting without regular paychecks is better than that.

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

As long as the labor cert. appeal is timely filed you should be able to extend for one more year.

I am working for a small company on H1B since October 2006. The company had originally filed for full time employment (LCA and I-129) but at the time of hiring offered part time employment. I worked part time till June 2008 and since then I have been working full time. The company however never filed for an amended LCA and/or I-129 and I worked part-time on a full-time LCA and I-129. My H1B approval was extended last October by another 3 years. I also work part-time for a University on a concurrent H1B.
Will I be deemed out of status for this? What are the implications of this on filing for GC under EB1 or EB2? Is there any way in which this situation may be legally rectified?
Please advise.

It does not matter. If a query comes, the employer should be able to vouch for you that you are still an employee of the company.
Moreover Greencard is future employment and hence technically you donot have to worry.

If we lose our job after having the I-485 pending for more than 8 months, I-140 approved, how much time do we have to find another job?
Do we have to immediately withdraw the petition after losing/quiting a job?

The advice i got is that you should be in a new job ( and notified USCIS about usage of AC21 ) before,
1. The I-485 is approved
2. Any RFE directed to the old employer

Hi,
I wish to scroll horizontally using two custom buttons (a left & a right one) in a FlowLayoutPanel, while disabling the autoscroll properties, as I do not wish to have the scrollbar. The controls that will be added into the FlowLayoutPanel will be subjected to changes, as it depends the number of data in the database.
So is there any tutorial/website that anyone can recommend for this related problem?
And also, I do know what to put for my horizontalscroll.maximum and minimum value as my flow direction is RighttoLeft.

Hello Friends,
Now the Fence bill has come and gone, none of our amendments are included in, all by now may have realized we need to keep it up for few more months before we see something happen.
And all those waiting for something to happen may also have realized that they need to contribute $, and I believe they did. (I did.)
I sincerely believe that IV members need also have to do one more SIMPLE ACT. Please spread the word about IV.
I have seen N number of times IV core members & many others, requesting to post the banner of IV in the grocery store you visit to help admit more members.
If you have not done it, please do so. I did it.
Simple things like this will help IV membership grow bigger and better chances of getting something done.
