From Public Policy Polling: Our poll of the Texas Governor's race this week is another data point indicating possible backlash for Republican candidates this fall in the wake of the Arizona immigration law. When we polled the race in Februrary Rick Perry led Bill White by 6 points. The race is tied now, and the movement since the previous poll has come completely with Hispanic voters. I am applying for new H1b in April. Also I have 485 applied under EB2 with I-140 approved.
1. Can anyone tell me what all information about my green card status I need to share with prospective employer attorney to make sure they provide it in H1b application...???
2. What's alien number and where can I find it...???

Article says "On June 12, 2008, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) informed the American Immigration Lawyers Association that the H-1B random selection process has been completed. USCIS completed the intake and receipt processes for all filings as of May 24, 2008 and began mailing rejection notices the week of June 9. Therefore, if an employer has not yet received a filing confirmation (Form I-797C Notice of Action), it likely means that the petition was not selected in the random process and that the rejection notice will be forthcoming."
My hope is over now...All the best to all who r lucky.

I just got my labor cleared. EB3.
I need to get the I140 processed
Any idea how much time it generally takes for this to process.
The reason I'm asking is because my h1 needs to be processed in April and if this I140 gets cleared before that, I can get my h1 extension for 3 years.

Once you file it usually take 1-2 months.But you have premium processing for I140 now,you can have result in two weeks.So don't worry ..just talk to your attorney.

Please submit contracts, statements of work, work orders, service agreements or letters from/with end-client firms requiring computer related services of the beneficiary. Evidence from other consultants or employment agencies not acceptable. The requested evidence should show specialty occupation work with the actual end-client company where the work will ultimately performed.

I was on H1 visa and laid off from job on 10/30/09. I got severance pay for Nov. and have the pay stubs. I applied for COS from H4 to F1 for my spouse (already in collage) and H1 to F2 for me on 12/9/09. Meanwhile immigration performed spot check at my ex-employers on 12/3/09, so they came to know that i was not working. My employer had not revoked H1 by then. Our COS application was received by USCIS on 12/14/2009, case is currently under Initial Review.
- Will the immigration officers who did spot check inform USCIS that i was out of status?
- Will case get rejected due to delay in applying for COS?
- Will there be any complications in transferring my H1 to new employer as i was out of status for about a month before i applied for COS?
- How to stop F2 COS if i get H1 transfer approved first?

I am very sorry to hear about your situation. Yes, you can bring your sister here on a visitor's visa to stay with you but she has to go back in 6 months.

I recall that USCIS was planning to issue 2 year AP and 2 year EAD. I see that the 2 year EAD has been implemented. ANy idea, if and when the 2 year AP implementation is expected?
